October 13th 2009
A cold, wet start to the day gradually
improved to a cool, sunny afternoon for our 3rd Joint
Production sale with Fleur de lis Farms and McCracken
Vu Angus, not a lot of cattle but enough to bring a
crowd of both new and repeat buyers / bidders and folks
interested in our little enterprise.
Cattle were penned in groups, herd bull prospects, cow/calf, bred heifers and
commercial heifer calves. In addition we had our herd bulls on display and
some halter broke heifer calves and steer prospects.

Blakemore for their help in setting up and keeping
the finances straight!
Seems
like haying season has gone on forever this
year, so little time to deal with other things
but we did manage to show cattle at a couple
of county fairs, Seneca and Allegany, and as
we had leased some cattle to 3 local 4H kids
they exhibited at Ontario and Wayne as well.
At Allegany we had champion in all three
divisions, calf, yearling and cow/calf with the yearling
heifer being named Grand Champion. In the supreme drive
we wound up reserve to Simme Valley.
At Wayne county
the 4H kids, Niki Davey, Nick Smith and Jacob Wheeler took championships
in Angus and Hereford breeds with Niki's heifer being
named Supreme female. Nick was champion beef showman
Jacob reserve and later in the week Niki took master
showman of all species.
At the end of August we hit State Fair
with Hereford and Angus. Jacob took reserve female
in the Hereford Jnr show with his heifer calf. In the
Angus show our jnr heifer calf Tullyfergus Miss Bushel
109 was reserve female champion and we were named premier
breeder and premier exhibitor.
